The World Cup starts this weekend; while I know jack shit about the intricacies of soccer, you got to love any sporting event where there is a 50 percent chance that a losing player (or the occasional referee) will be tarred and feathered after the game. I would root for the United States to win, but I fear that if in the a year that included the United States getting creamed in world tournaments in baseball and basketball also included the United States winning the world cup in soccer it would cause some sort of sports cataclysm
