Watertown Greek Festival
I usually try to go every night, but for shear food value go late on Sunday night. It is common that you can get 2 servings of food for the price of one since they are trying to not to have any leftovers.
There are certain groups of people you are guaranteed to see: Young children running around with silly string and glow sticks. Teenage boys with bad mustaches trying to flirt with teenage girls with too much make up on while standing on the ramp between the inside hall and the outside tent. A Greek guy over 50 with a thick mustache showing some surprisingly limber dance-moves on the dance floor while doing the Hasapiko. Father Ted and Father Metaxas making the rounds.
All the food is pretty damn good, but I recommend the Pastichio dinner and the loukoumades for desert.
While it is a Greek festival, there are usually a decent number of Armenians there and an increasing number of Americans who attend as well.
The Occasional minor celebrity sighting is common as well. i.e Michael Dukakis former BC and Buffalo Bill star Fred Smerlus.
