I saw Superman Returns yesterday. I don't want to give away too many plot details but here are some thoughts on the flick. Brandon Routh does a pretty good Christopher Reeve impersonation. However, the movie could have gave Routh more Clark Kent scenes. There is less attention paid to the Clark Kent persona then in the first 2 movies. The high expectation of the aforementioned first 2 Superman movies is hard to live up to and Superman Returns does not live up to them. On the other hand, the movie is on par with the best of the most recent crop of superhero flicks i.e. Spiderman 2 and X men 2. At times there are some plot threads that do not make a whole lot of sense and seem too conveniently contrived.  (i.e. Lex Luthor is out of jail because Superman did not show up to testify at his trial) If you let problems with plot details get to you, then parts of the movie might drive you crazy. If you watch the movie for what it is, a fun summer superhero flick, then you will enjoy it like I did. Overall Grade: B
