In every Boston Marathon, there is someone early in the race who expends a lot of energy to get to the head of the pack. They get a lot of face time on the T.V. the first few miles and then slowly but surely fall into the back of the pack not to be heard from again. Chris Gabrieli may be that guy in the Governor race. He had used a lot of time and money early on to get himself into the lead pack, but his lack of charisma and political acumen will cause him to fall back in the pack. Instead of a large media blitz early on, he should have done a slow build up culminating with the blitz near the primary.
