Governor Candidates Take The Fight To Google Ads

Whenever you Google something you can 2 sets of results: The results determined by Google’s Algorithm and to the right sponsored Google Ads links related your query. The way Google ads works is that you have to buy the rights to be listed next to a specific search term. For example, the ticket agency Stubhub.com turns up as the first sponsored link when you Google Red Sox because Stubhub.com paid to be listed as a sponsored link whenever someone Googles the term Red Sox. What is interesting is what turns up as the sponsored links when you Google the Massachusetts gubernatorial candidates. If you Google Kerry Healey the first sponsored link you get is DevalPatrick.com followed by Healeyforgovernor.com. When you Google Christy Mihos the only sponsored link you get is for Healeyforgovernor.com. For a search for Deval Patrick you get 2 sponsored links; one for DevalPatrick.com and one for Healeyforgovernor.com again. Googleing Tom Reilly gets you 3 sponsored link. One for DevalPatrick.com one for Healeyforgovenor.com, but the first sponsored link you get is for Moviefone.com for Tom Reilly movie that came out in the 60s that has nothing to do with the DA. Finally a search for Gabrieli gets the sponsored links for Gabrieli.org, Healeyforgovernor.com, and a link to the LiberalStore.com. So lets see how the Google Ads standings stack up.

Healey: 5 sponsored link buys

Patrick: 3 sponsored link buys

Gabrieli: 1 sponsored link buy

Reilly: 0

Mihos:0
