Before I post the soundscan list a here is a little analysis.  As in most things in life how well an album is doing in terms of sales is all about meeting expectations. Former member of Destiny’s Child Latoya exceeded them by selling nearly 165K to get a number 1 debut. On the other hand, Pharrell failed to meet expectations by only debuting at number 3 with 142K. The other big stories of the summer continue to be Gnarls Barkley, Rihanna, Nelly Furtado, and Yung Joc. For better or worse  based on album sales and video and radio play those are the artist who will be associated with Summer 06. Three of the four Barkley, Rihanna, and Joc all posted gains in sales this week verses last week and Nelly Furtado only had a small drop. As always the way to read the chart from left to right is chart position, name of artist, name of album, this weeks sales, percentage of increase or decrease from last week, last weeks sales, and the final number is the most important total album sold.
