On the anniversary of the land fall of Hurricane Katrina, here are my recommendations for the best chronicles of the Hurricane and its devastating aftermath. Douglas Brinkley’s book The Great Deluge is an amazing look at the disaster from all possible angles. The video for New Orleans born and raised rapper Juvenile’s song “get your hustle on” which was filmed in the lower ninth ward of New Orleans only a few months ago gives a first hand look of the devastation that still encompasses the area.
