Kerry Healey recently launched an attack add on Chris Gabrieli  accusing him of pushing for legislation on stem cell research that would personally benefit Gabrieli. The obvious oddity about this is that she is targeting Gabrieli before the democratic primary; The Gabrieli camp has used the add as a way to promote Gabrieli as the candidate who Healey fears the most. This may be true. Polls of the likely democratic contenders show Gabrieli doing the best head to head against Healey. However, I don’t think Healey should be wasting her money attacking any democrat just yet. I expect a low voter turn out this gubernatorial election. Thus, candidates who can energize their constituencies will be benefited greatly. Unlike the 02 Romney campaign, there is barely any buzz around Healey. I rarely see her in the forefront and speaking on various issues and when a big issue such as the tunnel collapse comes up, she is back to being reduced as part of the back drop in Mitt presidential campaign. If he Healey wants to get a decent turn out, she needs to step out of Romney shadow and fast.
