I had to work the afternoon program today until 6pm tonight and thus missed most of the debate. Why did they hold the debate at 6 instead of 7? It would have been a lot easier not only for myself, but for most “working people” (one of the favorite phrases of all politicians) to see the debate if it was on at 7pm instead of 6pm when most people are on their commute home. I heard bits and pieces of the debate on the radio, and in general it was uneventful. I doubt anyone was swayed to one side or the other. In addition, with 4 candidates on the stage and only a little more then an hour of airtime, it seemed to me that there were many instances where the candidates where cut off mid-sentence by the moderator Christopher “The Notorious Big” Wallace. For what it is worth, the informal unscientific polls on Boston.com and BostonHerald.com both had Patrick as the winner. I may have miss heard since I was listening on a walkman radio whose batteries were dying, but I am pretty sure that one of the “random” Massachusetts citizens who got to ask a question of the candidates was Shonda Schilling the wife of Curt. That seemed odd to me since there is a very good chance that the Schillings will not be living in MA anymore more after the 07 season is over.
