A disclaimer: I may be biased in the evaluation of this movie since I generally have an affinity for movies set in Boston, my sister did the dry cleaning for the movie, and Vatche Arabian a member of the distinguished WHS class of 01 was involved in the production. All that being said, The Departed is one of the best movies I have seen in years. As can be expected Scorsese does an kick ass job directing and the acting was top notch with a cast that reads like a list of the most prominent male actors in Hollywood: Nicholson, Damon, DiCaprio, Sheen (Martin) , Wahlberg (Mark and Robert), Baldwin (Alec), and Anthony Anderson. However, what sets the movie apart is the great script that is strewn with subtle Boston references. Wahlberg gets the best laugh lines in the movie with Jack being a close second. On a side note, I wonder if Whitey Bulger has seen the movie.
