In an time where more and more people go online for information instead of reading the paper, watching T.V. news, or listening to the radio, search companies specifically Google will play an increased role in our political process. Recently there have been reports of political candidacies practicing a strategy called Google Bombing where people try manipulating Google’s search formula to get negative or positive stories about a particular candidate near the top of the list of links Google provides when doing a search about a candidate. This practice is just getting started and I suspect that by the 08 elections it will be a full scale epidemic.
