Daisuke Matsuzaka!?!

Rumors are circulating that the Red Sox are the top team in contention to acquire Japanese pitching phenomenon Matsuzaka who was last scene in this hemisphere pitching Japan to the World Baseball Classic championship. While Japanese hitters have had a better track record then pitchers, (2 words Hideki Irabu) I am all for signing Matsuzaka. The top free agent pitcher other then he is Barry Zito who I think would do terrible pitching at Fenway and against the American League East. Zito’s numbers at Fenway and against the Yankees and Blue Jays are horrific. Matsuzaka has a fastball in the mid 90s and throws some nasty breaking pitches. One of them may or may not be a new pitch called the Gyroball. (as a Greek, I support signing anyone who throws something called a Gyroball.  Here are a few links to watch Matsuzaka pitch.
