Outrage Synergy at Fox News With Help From O.J.

Fox News commentators are famous for being outraged about something: sometimes it is the liberal elites, sometimes it is the secular progressives, or any other euphemism they use to describe people who don’t believe America was at its best in the 1950s. Now they have a new target, themselves. Fox has reportedly paid O.J. Simpson over 3 million dollars for a special interview titled “O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here's How It Happened.” Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly recently attacked his own network for trying to profit off a man who most likely murdered two other people and used it as yet another example of the decline of our culture. While in one way you could commend O’Reilly for taking a stand against his own network, it is also a convenient target for him. Political pundits like Hannity and O’Reilly on the right or Olbermann on the left need to constantly find reasons to be outraged about something in order to drive ratings and fuel their enormous self importance. It almost seems kinda strange when the thing you are outraged about is something that is in the same corporate family. I am officially coining a new term to describe this type of case:  Outrage Synergy
