For over 85 years on 227 Tremont St., stood Jack’s Joke Shop. I have only really been to the store a few times mostly the week before Halloween, but every time I go in there I feel like I am entering a time machine and being transported into the 70 years into the past. The men working at the store all look like they have been working their all 85 years of the stores existence. In addition, nearly all the products they sell look like either bad props from silent movies or have jokes written on them that were already considered lame 50 years ago. I always wondered how they managed to stay in business in area where everything else is expensive. Well, I got my answer in a sign today; they are going out of business after 85 years and with it the people of Boston lose a time portal back into a more innocent age when people still bought things like exploding cigarette packs, stink bombs, magical blocks, spiders of doom, and squirt chewing gum.
