Matsuzaka and Drew Double Deal?

Many baseball insiders are puzzled as to why the Red Sox signing of J.D. Drew which has been imminent for weeks now has not yet happened. I think there is a game of chicken going on between the Red Sox and Scott Boras. Initially it was thought that Boras would use his Matsuzaka connection to drive up the price of Drew by telling the Sox that Matsuzaka negotiations would go easier if the sox gave Drew ( and by extension Boras) big money. However, I think the Sox management it playing a similar game. The Sox need to sign Matsuzaka to have a successful off-season but they don’t need to sign Drew. I would not be surprised if the Sox are refusing to finish off the Drew deal until the Matsuzaka deal is done. My prediction, both contracts are announced as being completed on December 15 the last possible day for the Matsuzaka negotiations.
