Disappointed With The Direction of 24

When I first saw the preview of next season of 24, I was pretty stoked. However, reading more about it in an article in Entertainment Weekly and thinking about it more, I am disappointed with the direction of the show. Apparently this year will be similar to years past where Jack is trying to stop a terrorist attack. Like a video game with repetitive level design, shows like 24 need to switch things up now and then. That’s why I would have preferred if the plot line of next season was all about the day Jack escaped from the Chinese prison. They could have thrown in some intrigue where Jack stops some plot against America while escaping or something, but the cliff hanger from last year seems like a cop out if Jack is back on American soil without heads rolling. On a side note, the show House has the same problem; they need to make it so about ¼ of all the patients die to keep in interesting.
