My Pre-Christmas Swag Bonanza (with pics)
It is not yet Christmas and I have already accumulated a decent amount of Swag.
· The great Watertown blog h2otown.info recently had a charity fundraiser for the Watertown Food Pantry called h2town gives which I contributed too. Since I contributed, I was entered into a contest to get season one of the great HBO drama The Wire and a h20town.info mug; I found out today that I won the contest. I would like to take this time to thank Lisa Williams for her trailblazing place-blog h2otowm.info and the prize. In addition, I would like to give props to everyone else from h2otowm who contributed to the cause and to everyone who donates their time and money to help during the holidays and all year round.
· As many of you know, I work as a pre-k teacher and the parents in my classroom have been especially generous this year. I have received numerous gift cards, boxes of candy, and other treats.
· Aside from gifts from parents, today at work we held out annual Yankee Swap where I ended up with one of the better gifts; a set of Red Sox Beer Glasses.
· While Lawyers usually get a bad rap, I would like to thank my lawyer Murray Reiser who sent me a 2007 date planner as a gift.
· As I wrote earlier in the week, I am receiving a free copy of Steve Buckley’s new book The 100 Greatest Boston Sports Arguments to review for my blog.
· Finally, I would like to point out that while I have received a great many gifts so far, I have also gave my fare share of gifts to others and would like to remind everyone that to give can be just as pleasurable as receiving. ( I was going to make that last sentence into a dirty joke, but decided against it; kinda)
Here are a few pictures of some of the gifts I have received:
