Bring On The Chargers!

Here are some quick thoughts about the Patriots victory over the Jets today.

  • The biggest play of the game was the lateral that Colvin knocked down  that Wilfork was alert enough to pick and run with while everyone else thought the play was over.
  • Gaffney had a mixed bag game. He had 8 catches for over a hundred yards, but Gaffney did not have a great game because of 2 gaffes. He dropped a touch down pass in the end zone and negated a first down by going backwards after catching a ball.
  • The first 2 quarters were silly to watch because both teams were trying to out smart and out quick the other team to the line of scrimmage before substitutions could be made. One time it even resulted in a double penalty in a false start for the Jets and a too many men penalty for the pats.
  • Gostkowski had a great game with 3/3 on field goals and some booming kick offs into the end-zone.
  • The T.D. pass to Faulk was a great call; the Jets assumed that Faulk was staying in to block the blitz so no one was prepared to cover him when he bounced to the outside for theTD Pass. In addition Brady’s Pass to Graham at the end of the half was sweet.
  • I will give credits to the Jets who played a smart and persistent game up until that Samuel interception.
  • There is no way in hell the Patriots are resigning Samuel considering all the money he is going to be offered in the off-season after a 10 interception year and a post season interception.
  • The referees, who I usually like to bash, actually had a good game today. No real big screw ups.
