The new season of 24 has alternated from great scenes to comically bad subplots. Furthermore, this year the unintentional comedy quotient is increased by the presence of actors Peter MacNicol who is pretty much reprising his character from Ally McBeal and Eric Balfour who is best know for appearing in nearly every teen movie and teen T.V. show in the past 10 years: The OC, Cant’t Hardly Wait, Dawson’s Creek, Trojan War, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Boy Meets World, Punked, and plenty more. Trying to take Balfour seriously is impossible. However, there have been some good scenes so far in the first 4 hours of 24 and here they are:

1. Jack biting into and ripping out a guy’s jugular in order to escape. (it does not get any better then that on network T.V.)
2. The mini-nuke going off at the end of hour 4.
3. Jack shooting Curtis
4. Jack and the “good terrorist guy whose name escapes me” crashing into one of the “anonymous bad terrorist guys” and Jack going into the angry American act.
