Who knew that Jack Bauer had a father that was alive, a brother, a nephew, and a sister in law who he used to bang? I have watched the show since the first year and I don’t recall there ever being a mention of them. They might as well say that the family was conjured by mystical forces ala Buffy’s sister Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) in Buffy The Vampire Slayer to explain the lack of  reference to Jack’s dad and brother before. Sometimes 24 sure can rev up the soap opera style melodrama. I wish they went all out and got Donald Sutherland to play the dad but he may not be healthy enough to act so I understand.
