Anyone who was hoping for the Celtics to get the number 1 or 2 pick in the draft and land Greg Oden or Kevin Durant was dreading the return of Paul Pierce to the Celtics line up because they might actually win a few games with him playing. Have no fear folks; pierce was sent home from the road trip with a fever and “elbow swelling.” Look for Pierce to be sidelined later in the year with such incapacitating injuries like a paper cut, tennis elbow, emotional trauma from the death of his cousin’s neighbor’s aunt’s dog spike, and Manny’s old friend Patellar Tendonitis. Here is hoping the Celtics  keep losing and that the ghosts of Red helps ping pong balls fall into the Celtics favor this time.
