I always root against Duke because they usually have an abundance of players who suffer from White Boy Disease. What is White Boy Disease you may ask? White Boy Disease or WBD is a disease that affects many young athletes; particularly white basketball players (thus the name). WBD causes the athletes sole motivation and goal while playing to be to please their fathers and coaches. When they fail at pleasing their dad/coach like Duke did last night by missing a bunch of key free throws down the stretch, they get this panic look on their face like they fear they are losing their father/coach’s love and respect. I fully admit I am an asshole and have a serious case of schadenfreude whenever that look of panic appears on their face. On a side note, props to VCU’s Eric Maynor who had an amazingly clutch performance down the stretch to win the game last night.
