10 years ago the Spurs won the NBA Draft Lottery over the Celtics and selected Tim Duncan with the number 1 pick overall. Since that time, the Celtics have never beaten a Duncan led Spurs team. In addition, the Celtics have not won at San Antonio since Al Jefferson was 5! That all changed tonight behind a great game from Pierce and continued excellent play from Al Jefferson. Winning tonight might hurt the Celtics chances of winning this year’s lottery and getting Oden or Durant, but even if the Celtics don’t get one of those 2 players I am going to enjoy watching Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Rejon Rondo, Delonte West, Ryan Gomes et al grow into a damn good team over the next few years.
