I don’t think he would ever admit it publicly, but I think that Tom Brady was pissed off about the pathetic receiving corps he had last year. His receivers rarely got a lot of separation, did not break any plays, and routinely dropped balls. The Colts game was the epitome of this when key passes where dropped and Brady was forced to go to an aging Troy Brown on the biggest play of the game which illustrated our lack of a true go to guy last year. I think Brady voiced his disgust to Belichick which is part of the reason the Pats have gone nuts getting receivers this off season. As for the Moss deal, it is low risk, high reward. All they gave up was a 4th round pick and Moss has the potential to be a game breaker every time he steps on the field. In addition, Moss agreed to restructure his contract to become part of the Pats which is a good sign. In the end, this is football so if Moss starts acting like a dick, the Patriots can just cut him and all they would have done is lost a 4th round pick.
