Graduation Season/Rain

More than any other place in the world, Boston has a Graduation Season and as someone who allows figurative and literal Pomp and Circumstance (AKA Macho Man’s entrance music) to get to him, it is always one of the most emotional times of the year for me. (Thus, all the Dashboard coming from my speakers of late.) I have literally lost count of the number of Graduations I have attended and have been the actual graduate at 2 of them. (Hell, I even gave the Valedictorian Speech at one: Link: http://blog.sportspoliticandrevenge.com/2006/05/15/my-2003-bay-state-college-valedictorian-speech-with-a-back-story-first.aspx) Though I hate the rain and theoretically everyone wants a sunny day for their graduation, I am glad it rained during mine and it rained this graduation weekend. If Zeus and Helios conspired to have a blazing sun during graduation season it would not strike the right tone for what is a bitter sweet day. As a friend of mine who graduated this weekend said, “The rain is the tears Boston sheds when all its kids leave.”
