Baseball needs Bonds or at least people like him who can play the role of the villain. Way before this whole steroids scandal, Bonds was an arrogant ass player's son who played golf with Steve on 90210 who already played the part of the villain. Every time he strode to the plate today with his HGH fueled body it was like the appearance of a villain in one of those old silent movies. On the other hand, Bonds is irrelevant when it comes to the home run record because A-Fraud and or Pujols are going to hit 800 before they hang it up.
