Fox Sports is reporting that the Celtics are close to a deal for Garnett that would send Jefferson, Rondo, and Ratliff to the Minnesota. I hope Garnett agreeing to an extension would be part of that deal. Either way, that deal would not make sense. We would be left with Pierce, Allen, Garnett, and the rest of the roster would have as much talent as a European League team. ESPN on the other hand is reporting that the deal would be Jefferson, Ratliff, Green, Telfair, and a first round pick for Garnett. I would be more apt to agree with that deal because then you still would have Rondo as an up and coming point guard. With the Fox deal, Telfair, Pruitt, or a random veteran is your point guard. In the end I hope the Celtics stand pat as opposed to getting Garnett with the goal of being good enough to lose in the finals for the next year or two. Here is a link to the Fox Sports Story:
