New Dashboard Confessional: Thick As Thieves
As many of you know, I am more into chick fronted rock such as Tegan and Sera, Rilo Kiley, and Kay Hanley then male fronted rock bands. The biggest exceptions to that rule for bands from this decade are The White Stripes, Bright Eyes, and Dashboard Confessional. The latter of which just released their new single Thick as Thieves from their forthcoming album The Shade of Poison Trees. Musically, Thick as Thieves is more of a return to the Dashboard sound from The Places You Have Come To Fear Most album. Lyrically, my initial interpretation of the song after a few listens is Carraba is telling some chick that he will do his best to look the other and pretend to not know that she cheated on him once. Overall Song Grade: B
