Last night I got to see Rilo Kiley led by the lovely child actress turned indie rock goddess Jenny Lewis at Avalon; they did not let the crowd down. They opened the show with the classic "It's A Hit" that has lyrics that get more relevant with each passing day of the Iraq War/The Clusterfuck that is the modern media. The band was tight through the entire set which had an encore of "Does He Love You." A few of the times guitarist Blake Sennett took the lead vocals over, but the real star that everyone was their to see was Lewis who commanded the stage while switching from playing guitar to keyboard, to cowbell. The show highlights for me where the neo-classic "Breaking Up" and the entire crowd singing along to "With Arms Outstretched." (I will upload video of that later). Below are some pics from the show:
