John Edwards took the first step to drop out of the presidential race today when he all but conceded defeat by accepting Public Finance Funds which come with spending limits. Edwards claims he did this because of some moral high ground bullshit; but, in reality, he is taken the money because he can't raise enough himself. Anyone who has watched the debates or seen them interact will most likely conclude that Edwards is on better terms with Obama then Clinton. Which leads me to the speculation that Obama is going to try to cut a deal with Edwards. More Edwards supporters would likely vote Obama over Clinton in the primary. Thus, Edwards continued presence could only hurt Obama. I foresee Obama making a back room deal for Edwards to drop out of the race and throw his support behind Obama. Obama would promise Edwards some BS job in his administration like secretary of agriculture or Special Government Inquisitor of hair product.
