Damn It
•We need to shake up the line up and put Ellsbury in there at the top of the order for either Crisp or Drew, preferably Drew. Pedroia is struggling at the top of the order and Crisp and Drew are doing jack shit. (I don’t care if Drew got a single) The Sox lost the game in the second innings when they had Westbrook on the ropes with bases loaded and no outs and Crisp ended the inning by hitting into a DP. Since the Tek and Lofton HRs canceled each other out, the team’s ability to capitalize with runners in scoring position determined that game, the Sox had their opportunity in the second and laid a goose egg. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
•Home plate umpire Brian Gorman sucked ass tonight for both teams. He was calling pitches on the corner of the plate balls and pitches 5 inches off the plate strikes. Case in point Manny first at bat where Manny walked after getting a ball call on a pitch on the corner and Manny’s third at bat where there was a ball 5 inches off the plate called a strike which resulted in Manny hitting into a DP.
•Dick-K had good stuff for most of the night but made a big mistake with that fastball over the plate to Lofton. The other runs he gave up where the result of bad umpiring and ground balls with eyes.
•Props to the Sox bullpen tonight who pitched great. Timlin, Okajima, and Delcarmen.
•The Defensive positioning for the Indians has been strong all series. Case in point that line drive that Papi hit in the 8th that went right to the right fielder.
•I am pissed that we went that gently into the night against Borowski who was throwing slop up there.
•Westbrook was good tonight, but like I stated earlier the Sox left him off the hook early in that second inning and a few other times by swinging early in the count instead of trying to work more walk. Most of those sinkers end up outside of the plate.
•It is a scary thought, but if the rain holds tomorrow this series could hinge on whether of not the knuckleball is fluttering right which is a 50/50 proposition if there ever was one.
