Tonight's Minnesota vs. Boston game at the TD Banknorth Garden had a pick up game feel. Many of the battles on the court have probably played out in Celtics practices in years past: Walker vs. Pierce, Rondo vs. Telfair, Jefferson vs. Perkins, Gomes vs. Powe et al. At times there was verbal jarring going on and sneering faces most notably Telfair who played pretty well and had a sneer going for most of the game, but it always felt like the good natured trash talk that would happen in a pick up game against old friends. I would not have been surprised if Eric Williams, Tony Battie, Ricky Davis, Raef Lafrentz, and Walter McCarty showed up with a ball and let it be known that they had next. In the end, the Celtics won the game by turning on the D in the last minute; However, I would not be surprised if like a pick up game, many of the participants from both teams went out after the game together. Lets just hope Telfair behaves himself if that is the case.
