Sports and Politics Channel Surfing
- Tonight I was flipping back and forth between the Dems Debate at the Kodak theater, The Celtics Game, and The Bruins game. Here are some quick thoughts on all 3 events:
- The first one on one debate did not live up to the hype. Mostly because 95% of Obama and Clinton's proposed policy is the same and they end up debating on the 5% of the minutia of their policies such as the exact nature of the subsidies given to people to pay for their quasi-universal health care proposals. In addition, they where both very respectful to each other. I think more people are going to be talking about all the random celebrities who where in the crowd from Jason Alexander to Stevie Wonder.
- The Celtics showed they can beat a good team like Dallas even without KG. The key play of the night was when Rondo ripped a rebound from Dirk's hands with less then a minute to go and then put up this sweet spinning one handed lay up back in the hoop to extend the lead.
- The Bruins played great tonight against the best team in the NHL, Ottawa. They came out with and got an early lead then did a good job of not letting the Senators get sustained pressure in their zone. When the Senators did, Thomas came up big like he has been recently.
