I love the idea to allow the old South Weymouth Air Force base to be turned into a 200 million dollar movie studio. State Rep. Ronald Mariano (D-Quincy) has a proposal that would give millions of dollars in tax incentives for the construction of a studio complex. In addition to the Weymouth proposal there is also an idea to put a studio in Plymouth. They would provide tons of cash in both construction jobs and entertainment industry jobs for the area. The increase of shows and movies filmed and produced here would also most likely be a boon for the tourist industry. In addition, I just think Boston and the surrounding areas provide good backdrops for movies.
