The Bruins got completely outplayed in the second period. They gave out the only goal of the period when Thomas let out a big rebound and the B's defense did a bad job clearing out the front of the net which allowed former Bruins First Round Pick from the 90 draft Brian fucking Smolinski of all people to put it in the net. All of the other 4 good scoring chances in the period where by Montreal:
1. Kovalev missed an open net when they where playing 4 on 4.  
2. Higgins almost got a goal on a Montreal rush when they made 3 great passes.  
3. There was a flurry of shots in front of the net that could have resulted in a goal  
4. Kostopoulos missed an open net after receiving a good as at 18:30 into the period
In the second period, the only Bruin who played well on offense was Kessel. Montreal is constantly attacking in this game and unless the Bruins prove they have people who capitalize on a mistake and put the puck in the net, they will have no reason to not take chances and this series could end up mirroring the regular season series.
