Seinfeld @ The Wang (w/pics), Bruins Game 6, and Manny Being Manny

Tonight, was one of those nights when my actual life and my life as a sports fan collided. A few weeks back a friend of mine told me she had an extra ticket for Jerry Seinfeld at The Wang Theater if I wanted to go. Being a big Seinfeld fan, I jumped at the chance, but I did have some reservation because there was the possibility that it might coincide with a Bruins or Celtics playoff game. Some might think this is odd, but being a sports fan after watching an entire regular season; missing a playoff game is like dating a girl for a few years and then skipping the wedding. Or to put it in less romantic terms it is like dating a girl for a while and right when your about to finally get some, deciding to do something else. Flash forward a few weeks and it turns out the night of the Seinfeld show is the same night as a HUGE Bruins game 6 vs. Montreal. Lucky for me the Seinfeld show started at 7 so I still could see a good chunk of the game; and what a game it was. I got to see the third period at the Upper Crust Pizza on Beacon Hill and witnessed the most exciting period of hockey I have scene in a while. Tons of back and forth goals. There where not b.s. goals either. Kessel's goal from Sturm (told ya Kessel should have been playing all series) and Sturm's goal to win it where things of beauty. Later, I was heading home and waiting for the redline at the MGH stop when I put my old school am radio walkman on and heard Manny being Manny and blasting one over the Monstah to take the lead in the 8th. It was also pointed out that right before the Sox made their comeback, there was a standing ovation at Fenway when the final Bruins score was posted. This type of thing used to happen all the time at Fenway and it was great to see the crossports cheering again. Oh yeah, Jerry. Seinfeld put in a great set at the Wang. Nothing groundbreaking but just funny Seinfeldian observation humor about everything from cellphones to children's B-day parties. Here are a couple of pictures I took at tonights show.
