Dear Paul Pierce,

Paul you have the second best career scoring average in Celtics history. You led the Celtics this year in points per game. In short, you are a great scorer. Now act like one. Kevin Garnett is a great defensive player, but he is not a guy who can take over a game offensively; you can. Ray Allen has lost a step and can not either. Too often in this playoffs you have seemed timid while taking shots and just hoping to get fouled as opposed to trying to make the shot whether a guy was going to foul you or not. In some games, you have not put up many shots at all. If you can lead the Celtics to a title this year, it will get you into the Hall Of Fame and could be justified as being one of the all time Celtic greats. I know you have the hardest job on the team right now covering Lebron James and have done a good job with that and the energy you do doing that may be one of the reasons that your offense is struggling at times. Tonight you missed a lay up and an open 3 in the 4th quarter. We need you to hit shots like that. And we need you to take the lead on offense even if you are struggling at times and missing shots. Eventually you will get hot and start hitting them and force the defense to put 2 guys on you. In the 02 playoffs  here where your shot totals for all 16 games: 25, 19, 20, 16, 25,17, 19, 20,19,23,16,13, 21, 21, 13, 16. Those numbers do not even include all the times you went to the line which where numerous. Here are your shot totals for the 11 games played so far in the 2008 playoffs. 10, 10, 13, 14, 17, 12, 9, 14, 13,8,17. And you are not going to the line as much as you used to.  I don't care if it pisses off everyone else including KG, Allen, Rondo or whoever. Go into the game with the mentality that you are going to the basket and taking 20+ shots in the game even if it is not in the flow of the offense. This is your team Paul. We may lose with you trying to take things over or we may win. but, don't let other people decide what your place in Celtic history is.
