Best Place For Free Music: The Library

When I was in Elementary School, I used to get cassette tapes from the Library and then make copies of them. (I got both of Naughty By Nature’s albums that way) Then years passed, and I stopped looking at the Library as a way to get music. Recently though, I’ve come to realize getting C.D. from the Library is a great way to free music without worrying about downloading a virus or getting sued by the RIAA. Recently, I have uploaded a couple of Beatles Albums, Black Flag’s Damaged, Blink 182’s Greatest Hits, The White Stripes Elephunt, John Mayes Room For Squares (the last 2 I owned the CD but lost them) and REM’s Greatest Hits from library C.D.s. The Library’s collection of music is pretty random considering most of it is donated by people and most of it sucks but you will find the occasional classic like the aforementioned Black Flag’s Damaged there. For those who would say that I am still somehow stealing money from the artists, I saw that labels have screwed artists and fans over for years from the 1950-1990s and now it is their turn to get screwed. If I want a artist to get money I will buy tickets to their concert, but their merchandise, or buy the album in some way that helps cut out the needless middleman.
