Father Ted Leaves Taxiarchae Watertown Greek Church
Father Ted (Theodore J. Barbas) who became a Priest at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church In Watertown(My Church) 12 years ago and took over for the Legendary Father Metaxas(The Priest Who Baptized Me) is leaving the Church to become the Chancellor of The Metropolis of Boston. He notified his parishioners via a letter which came in the mail today which you can read here. While Father Ted never had the commanding voice or presence of Father Metaxas, he had an open and inclusive style; he spoke a higher percentage of English then Father Metaxas and he invited other Priests from local Armenian Churches and even had the Easter Sunday Sermon delivered in over 10 languages. Furthermore, he focused a lot on building up Youth involvement in the Church. On behalf of myself and my family I would like to wish him Good Luck with his new position.
