The Obama Generation & The Star Fish Story

A while back I was talking to someone who was about 15 years older then me (I am 25) and she referred to me as being part of the Obama Generation. And in a sense, she is right; Obama strongest voting block in pretty much every state so far has been people under 30. Aside from being the youngest candidate and the possible first African American President, what draws this age group to Obama? If you listen to the speech about service that Obama gave today at Wesleyan and some of his other speeches, Obama more then anything else promotes the pragmatic idealism which many who are around my age and younger have been taught and practice in their lives. It is the kind of idealism that does not strive to have peace on earth or feed all the hungry. It is the kind of idealism that is best illustrated by The Star Fish Story.
