The Scariest Type Of Pitcher In Baseball
When people think of a scary types of pitchers, the first thing that comes to mind is a guy who goes up there and throw in the high 90s. However, I find that much more scary in that, is the veteran left handed pitcher with good control. These guys usually have a pretty good curve, change speed/location, and always hit their spots. They don't beat themselves and kinda lull the batter to sleep. It is these guys who in my life time the Red Sox seem to have the hardest time hitting. This bread of pitchers includes Jamie Moyer, Tom Glavine, Andy Pettite, David Wells, Kenny Rogers, Ted Lilly, and last night's starter for the D-Backs Doug Davis. For a while it looked like it would be a typical loss against a crafty lefty. However, the Sox got 2 quick hits in the 8th and then the crowd started effecting the game and weighing on the D-Backs reliever. Lowell and Tek hit 2 clutch hits to give the Sox the lead and then Pap shut it down. Any time when you get a win when facing one of these scary lefties, it is a good night.
