Obama V.P. Wish List
Obama has to pick a V.P. pretty soon, so here is my list of the 5 people I would most like to see him pick based on a combination of who would help him win and be a good V.P. Tomorrow, I will predict who he will actually pick and why.
1. Colin Luther Powell (Military and International credentials? Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and 11 military decorations, including the Legion of Merit, under Jimmy Carter assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense, under Reagan Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs and Lieutenant General, Under Bush 41 was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, went to Haiti in 94 with Sam Nunn and got a peaceful return to power of the government there, Secretary of State under Bush 43 and admits that they messed some things up regarding Iraq.
2. Michael Bloomberg (The Economy is the # 1 issue and he has as much economic credentials as anyone: As an independent without ties to Washington he would reinforce the change theme of the campaign. plus he could provide extra cash for the campaign from his own money and put Florida into play.)
3. Hillary Rodham Clinton I know she has high negatives, her and Bill have lots of baggage, and would galvanize Republicans who hate her even more, but fuck it. She would bring in tons of female voters who might be waffling between Obama and McCain. Plus, her and Bill would be great attack dogs while Obama stayed above the fray.
4. Sam Nunn (he would be like Obama's Cheney but less evil. He has tons of experience on a variety of issues, is from the South, and not too many negatives.)
5. Bill Richardson Like Nunn, lots of experience on a variety of issues, he is from a swing state, would help with Latin voters (sort of), and is high on the unintentional comedy scale sometimes.
