First we saw the end of Yankee Stadium during a meaningless game, and now we get to see the end of Shea, in a glorious way. For the second straight year, the Mets got eliminated from Playoff contention by losing on the last game of the season. I think the highlight of the loss for me was hearing the Mets fans boo favorite David Wright when he popped up in the 9th innings. The Mets loss allowed the Brew Crew to make the playoffs for the first time in my lifetime. C.C. Sabathia pitched his 7th complete game as a Brewer and improved his record to 11-2 with a 1.65 era. In addition, he pitched 3 straight games on 3 games rest. That is Cy Young and Bob Gibson type of shit right there. Despite the fact that he was only on the Brewers for a little more than half of the year, and will all due respect to the amazing T. Lincecum and Webb I think C.C. deserves the Cy Young and top 5 MVP consideration.
