Baseball Division Series Predictions

Now that the White Sox beat the Twins (in an old-school quick game) to make the playoffs, It is time to make first round playoff predictions.

Brewers over Phillies in 5: I don't like the Phillies starters that much and all the Brewers need to do is win just one of games one, three, or four because they go Sabathia going games two and five and he is on a historic run and has a potential to pull an Orel Hershiser in 1988.

Cubs Over Dodgers in 4: Despite Manny's amazing stats since the trade, the Cubs still have a better offense. They also have better starting pitching and home field.

Tampa Bay Over White Sox In 3: The White Sox will be happy to just be in the playoffs and aside from Griffey, many of them have won it before so they may not be super motivated.  Tampa does not really have fans, but they had the best home record in baseball this year. Tampa will jump on them early and the White Sox will not have that much fight left in them in game 3.

Red Sox Over Angels in 5: Call me a homer if you want. I know the Angels had the better record overall and I know the Angels kick our ass during the season winning 8/9. However, the Sox team OBP is .358 compared to the Angels .330.  Plus, even though he looks scary up there, Vladimir Guerrero swings at too many bad pitches in clutch spots and is an easy out. I may eat my words, but I don't see him doing anything this series. Because of that, The Angels will have a tough time putting up enough runs and when it is all said and done Boston will win.
