Thoughts On Bruins Before The Puck Drops Tonight

I am surprisingly pretty excited about The Bruins this year. I don't think they will join the Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots and become championship contenders. However, what they do have is young likable players who are going to be fun to watch develop like Milan Lucic and Phil Kessel. The biggest question is obviously Patrice Bergeron and whether or not he can stay healthy. Before he got hurt, he was turning into the Bruins version of Dustin Pedroia or Youk. Maybe not a superstar, but a guy from your own system who put up consistently good numbers that you could build around. Claude Julien did a good job getting the defense back on track last year with Chara as the anchor (except of the occasional horrible game) and Thomas is solid if not great in net. Thus, I think the key to the Bruins this year is the aforementioned young players. In the end, I predict a 5th seed in the Eastern Conference and a first round victory, but nothing more. Overall the goal for this season should be winning a playoff round. As for who will win the cup, here are my predictions:

Western Conference Final: San Jose Sharks Over Detroit Red Wings ( Big Joe is still a top 5 player in this league and they finished second last year and added 3 good veteran defensemen in the offseason: Rob Blake, Dan Boyle and Brad Lukowich.
Eastern Conference Final: Montreal Canadians over Pittsburgh Penguins  (Montreal's fans are annoying, but their speed and style of play is fun to watch and they will finally break the playoff hump this year.)

Stanley Cup Finals: Sharks over Canadians

Hart Trophy (MVP) Alex Ovechkin
I think the dude can score 70 goals. Out of the 4 major sports right now, he is the player who is the most dominant force.
