Even when he was in a slump, when Manny was in the line up, he was always a force that the other team had to deal with. Right now, there are too many holes in the line up and Youk and Pedroia don't have the power to be truly scary. I don't know if he is hurt or just in a mental funk that he can break out of, but David Ortiz looks lost of there. Then we have Ellsbury, will someone please tell him he is fast? He does not have a hit this series and too many of his at bats end with fly balls. He should just try to bunt and or slap the ball on the ground and try to beat it out. Varitek is another guy who is 0 for the series and did the sin of taking a strike 3 when there was one out and runners on second and third back when the game was still close. People are going to talk about Lester, but even if Lester gave up 2 runs tonight the Sox would not have won. I still think the Sox can and win this series but we have too much depending on the whims of a knuckleball tomorrow.
