Last year Mike Lowell had a great post-season. This year we had Mark Kotsay. Kotsay, did great on defense, but sucked at the plate. He was 0/4 tonight and in the entire series left 20 men on base! Then we had Tek, who had his big home run, but literally nothing else. It got to the point with Tek where I looked at a strike out that took more than 5 pitches like he did earlier in the game as a good at bat. Because of his drop off in hitting, we should not bring Tek back as a full time catcher next year. ( I would not be opposed to bringing him back part time along with a more offensive orientated catcher) Papi, looked lost and hurt for the vast majority of the series. One of his greatest strengths is being able to hit pitches that are in the middle of the strike zone or away to opposite field and he did not do that once this series. I don't know if it was his wrist or knee causing it, but his bat was slow. Youk had a good series, but I don't understand why he gave away that one at bat in the 7th when he was up 1-0 on Garza and Garza's pitch count was rising. He should have taken more pitches to try to get the bullpen earlier. Dustin was are best player tonight with the HR and that great 11 pitch walk, but I don't know if it was Terry or Dustin himself but running on the 3-2 count with Papi struggling made no sense. You can't blame Jason Bay for the loss of this series, but his performance overall was just enough to lose. It seemed down the stretch that the umpire gave all the close calls to Tampa.

It is hard not to think if a certain someone was still in the line up tonight that things might have turned out differently.

I like Rollings, Howard, Moyer, and Stairs on Philly, but I hate most of the rest of the team led by the piece of shit wife beater Brett Myers so go Rays.
