Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner & HBO's The Wire

Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner took to the City Hall steps today surrounded by hundreds of supporters and the media; he then preceded to blast the media, the City Council President, and attempt to defend the reputation he has been building for over 30 years. The entire scene reminded me of something, a scene on the final season of HBO's The Wire. In the show, Senator Clay Davis is accused of bribery charges, and then holds press conference  surrounded by supporters on the court house steps to defend himself. Davis is said to be based on Thomas L. Bromwell; so in the case of Turner's speech on the outside of the State House today, it is a case of life imitating art which was already imitating life. In case you where wondering, on the show Clay Davis is acquitted. You can watch part of the Clay Davis scene by clicking on the link below.
