Quick Thoughts On A Big Day In Sports
- Everytime Jackson threw a pass for Minnesota today that was 10 yards off target, the price to trade for and sign Matt Cassel went up. It is amazing to me how many QB's in the league right now are aweful. Even QB's of playoff teams like Jackson.
- Speaking of the Philly Minnesota game today, the interception by Asante Samuel reminded me how much the Patriots miss a playmaker in the secondary. I hope they go for a defensive back in the first round of the draft.
- Big Props to BC for beating number 1 UNC at Chapel Hill today. I don't care that much about College Basketball, but any time UNC or Duke loses it is funny. Tyrese Rice had a great game and if he keeps it up, he could be a mid round first round pick in the draft.
- As for BC Football, I don't get why they are firing Jeff Jagodzinski for interviewing for the Jets job. It seems like kinda an overeaction. Plus, won't it hurt their chances of getting good coaches in future if B.C. if they are so hostile to coaches with NFL ambitions which I would assume any coach worth his whistle would have. Furthermore, If somehow Jagodzinski got the job, would it not be good for 2 former BC coaches to have NFL head coaching gigs in terms of making the school look big time?
- The Celtics lost to the Knicks today. Ray Allen and Garnett both look kinda tired. Right now the team just looks like it is simulate mode. In video games when you are playing an entire season, you can let the computer simulate some of the games so you don't need to play every game. It seems like the Celtics just want to simulate some of these game and just get the middle of the season over worth and get to the real season of the playoffs. Getting Marbury might give them both a midseason spark and a much needed scoring threat off the bench.
- It is being reported that the Pats are going to franchise Cassel which makes sense. I say we trade him; I don't think a first and a third is unrealistic for him. If Brady is healthy great, if he is not, I say we take our chances with Kevin O'Connell.
