I was coming home tonight on the 71 Bus around 9:30 when the Bus driver was forced to stop due to police blocking Mt. Auburn St . near Bates Rd. After I got off the bus, I crossed to the other side of the street and began walking towards the Square. There was a crowd of people talking on the sidewalk and one of them told me that a pedestrian had been hit by a car. (he was not an eye witness to the event so please don't take this as an official report of the accident) If in fact someone was hit, here is hoping that they are o.k.
I wonder if all the ice in the area might have played a factor in the accident.
